I have installed and programmed lots of sprinkler timers and I now only recommend one brand. ORBIT...These are easy to install and the easiest to program hands down. There is no easier way. Most of the timers on the market have a totally ridiculous menu to program which is hard to understand and if you loose the manual forget about programming it. These ORBIT models have a slide bar for each station so you can actually "see" which stations have which times without having to use a menu driven system. Want to adjust the times? Just slide the bar up or down to the desired time. This was very easy for my older clients to use and I even installed one at my grandmothers house and she could use it with almost no guidance. These timers also have the capability to use an included "easy to understand" menu driven timer function which is nice for techie people like me who want to be able to also take full control of the programmer for demanding watering situations but still have easy to understand programming. Easy to manually water and has an input for a rain sensor too. I highly recommend this timer!!

I have been researching outdoor and indoor timers and ordered one of these. After having used the cheap timers with theri inaccurate dials, this one is a gem.
What's so great about it:
- Solid high build quality ... feel like pro tool
- Outdoor rated and weather proof
- 20 programs available
- Simple on/off switch
- Ambient light sensor to switch the timer when it gets dark or light
- Random on/off function avoids predictable timer function in case you use it for lighting while absent from home.
- The little cord pig tail lets it work with covered outdoor outlets.
What's not:
- I wish amazon.com would have it eligible for prime, I would have ordered a few. Unfortunately not.
- A little pricey. It is not a very widely sold timer so options for competitive pricing on the web are slim
I love it and will get this one for indoor timer use too!
